A world of learning, play and imagination

At Mini Moos Day Nursery, we are proud to offer a host of wonderful facilities that cater to the diverse needs of young children.

Located on the scenic Churchfields Farm Park, our nursery is designed to blend the comforts of modern indoor spaces with the natural beauty of the outdoors, creating an environment that is both stimulating and serene.

Our indoor facilities are bright, spacious, and equipped with the latest educational resources to support a wide range of learning activities. From cozy reading corners to creative play areas, we’ve designed every space with your child’s development in mind. Our facilities include designated areas for different developmental stages, ensuring that each child receives the appropriate level of care and attention.

The true heart of Mini Moos Day Nursery, however, lies in our extensive outdoor facilities. Children at Mini Moos Day Nursery have the unique opportunity to engage with nature every day. Our outdoor spaces include safe play areas, interactive forest school activities, and hands-on learning experiences such as planting and exploring life-cycles, and small animal care. The children also get to meet and learn about the farm animals that call Churchfields Farm home, fostering a deep connection with the environment and a sense of responsibility towards nature.

    Indoor care and learning

At Mini Moos, we do not split our children based on age, but rather by their stage of development. We believe this approach meets their individual needs more effectively. Each room's layout is often changed daily or weekly with new, stimulating, and engaging activities, all planned and prepared with the children's individual interests and next steps in mind.  Each room has two mini toilets and sinks so all children can practice being independent in their personal care. For those still in nappies, each room is equipped with changing facilities, and all nappies and wipes are included in our fees.

    Tiny Tractors

Our Tiny Tractors room is set up predominantly for our younger learners or those who will benefit from more nurturing of their confidence or speech and language skills. In this room, we focus on the three prime areas of learning: physical development, communication and language, and personal, social, and emotional development. For example, we might use simple, repetitive key texts to reinforce the early stages of language. We also encourage our Tiny Tractors to use their kind hands, feet, and words as they begin to learn to sit and listen.

    Curious Calves

Our Curious Calves room aims to support the children in practicing their skills learned in Tiny Tractors while becoming more independent. This might include managing conflict appropriately for their age and stage of development and sitting and listening for longer periods to prepare for school expectations. Smaller loose parts may be present with more focus on honing fine motor skills, which helps prepare them to write.

    Forest School

One of the many jewels of Mini Moos at Churchfields Day Nursery is our Forest School. A magical trail into the woods leads to an exclusive setting for children to explore, play, and adventure in a healthy and natural environment. Led by our talented and skilful Forest School Teacher, the amount of unlocked imagination, social development and nurturing fun achieved in these sessions really can't be overstated.

    Extensive Outdoor Adventure Play

The adventure play at Churchfields Farm Park sets the scene for energetic play and adventure, the perfect release for young children to be themselves and use up some of their infinite energy as they play and develop their physical, neurological and motor functions.

    Private Garden

Our private garden, which features a large covered area, is often used as part of the free-flow environment in Curious Calves. It can be used in all weather and it is home to our pets - Seven the rabbit and Spartacus the tortoise. It is packed full of open-ended resources for the children to select independently, fostering limitless learning through play.

    Farm Animals Experience

Nothing sparks a child's intrigue and wonder quite like animals do. At Mini Moos, children learn to connect, care and respect our lovely 4 legged friends as they meet and interact with donkeys, goats, sheep and more. We love to be able to offer children these magnificent sessions of feeding and learning about our resident animals. These sessions go a long way in fulfilling a child's inquisitive nature when it comes to the outdoors.

    Giant Sand Pit

Who doesn't love a sand castle?! And the next best thing to a sunny beach, is a giant sand pit big enough to park a bus in! We know children love a messy sand pit to play in, and we offer one big enough for the entire nursery! The best part? You don't have to worry about tidying up!

    Curriculum Enhancing Activities

We work in partnership with Delta Sports and Funics, who provide regular in-house sessions focusing specifically on Early Years PE and Phonics for 0-5-year-olds. These experts in their fields bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in delivering their skills to early years children. This makes academic learning not only accessible at these early stages but also much more fun and engaging as they continue their journey to being truly "school ready."

    Small Pet Care

Say hello to Sparticus! Sparticus is our resident tortoise, who along with Seven the Rabbit, resides in our garden just outside our main building. Children will love to devote some of their play time to interacting and playing with the resident pets at Mini Moos, helping to feed, care for and tend to their habitat while building a sense of responsibility. You can expect lots of stories about Sparticus and Seven from your little one during your journey home!

    Exclusive Access To Churchfields

Our exclusive access to Churchfields Farm Park all year round means we not only have the fun of the farm on our doorstep daily but also get to use it even when it is closed to the public. We also have the excitement of visiting all of their annual events, such as lambing live or the pumpkin patch at Halloween.
